Photo Slideshow: East End After Hurricane Igor
Many Bermudians were very concerned over how the Airport and Causeway, both of which sustained severe damage after Hurricane Fabian in 2003, would fare during Hurricane Igor. It was with great relief that locals heard that both of them came through with no structural damage, with the Causeway opening yesterday afternoon, and the Airport opening this morning [Sept 21].
Not everywhere in the East was quite so lucky, with Igor crashing some electrical poles, flooding St George’s Town Square temporarily, and the Government tender ‘Bermudian’ breaking free from its moorings and getting battered against the shoreline.
Slideshow below, by Only the Best, shows various areas around the East End yesterday after Igor’s passing.
