World Speed Record: Bermudian Harness Racer
We are rather pleased to take a break from all the gloomy hurricane talk to report that a harness racing enthusiast from our tiny island of Bermuda has captured a number of world class speed records.
IC’s Amber Rock is presently recorded as the fastest trottingbred in the world on all tracks this year and holds the world records for a mare on all tracks. The horse is owned by Arnold and Robin Manders. No stranger to sporting success, Mr Manders is best known as a cricketer, and is also the father of top local tennis player Gavin Manders.
IC’s Amber Rock is undefeated in all stakes races for the past three years against fillies and colts, and has currently won 12 out of 15 races in Indiana’s Free–for–All Division.
IC’s Amber Rock’s Records:
- ½ mile – :58.4 (second fastest time in history to Sir Tux’s :58)
- ¼ mile – 1:2.2 (fastest time in history on the ¼ mile track – she broke Dynamic Trip’s record of 1:02.4)
- 5/16 – 1:02 (second fastest time in history to Underestimated’s 1:01.4)
- She holds the track record at Lagrange (1/4 mile track) – 1:02.2
- She holds the track record at Hicksville (1/2 mile track) – :58.4
Congratulations! “fastest trottingbred in the world on all tracks” remarkable!
