Three Motorcycle Accidents Overnight

Last night [Oct 3/4] saw three reported traffic accidents which saw motorcyclists injured, with one resulting in the tragic death of 22-year-old mariner Adam Goodwin.

The first reported incident occurred at approximately 10pm last night on South Road in Paget near the junction with College Rise. The Police say that it appears that the 42-year-old motorcycle rider was traveling along South Road when he lost control, colliding with a sidewalk and a pillar. The scene is pictured below.

The rider, a Pembroke resident, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage, and is pictured below being taken away by Police officers.

Later on that same night, at around 1:30am, Police and first responders attended another accident, this time on Stowe Hill in Paget involving a motorcycle and a bus.

The Police say that it appears that the motorcycle rider, a 20 year old Southampton man, was traveling along Stowe Hill when it collided with the parked bus. The rider was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Both the motorcycle and the bus were damaged.

A few hours after that accident at around 4am, 22-year-old Adam Goodwin was traveling on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with St. Mark’s Road when he lost control and collided with a wall. Sadly, the young man was pronounced dead approximately 30 minutes later.

Police inquiries into all three incidents are underway, and Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision or anyone with any information to contact them on 295-0011.
