UBP On Death of Olympia Corrent

November 9, 2010

Senator Jeanne Atherden, Chairman of the United Bermuda Party, released a statement expressing the condolences from the UBP following the death of Olympia Corrent.

Ms Corrent was the daughter of the late Dr E.F. Gordon, and the sister of former Premier Dame Pamela Gordon and UBP MP Patricia Gordon-Pamplin.

Ms. Corrent’s lifeless body was initially found by family members on Saturday at a Victoria Street residence. The Police previously stated that it appears that Ms Corrent’s body had been at that location for some time. She was 64 years old.

Senator Atherden’s statement follows below:

The United Bermuda Party is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Olympia Gordon – Corrent, the daughter of the late E.F. Gordon and Mildred Bean and the sister of former Premier Dame Pamela Gordon and Shadow Works Minister Patricia Gordon – Pamplin.

Ms. Corrent was an integral part of the United Bermuda Party team that successfully elected Robert Barritt and Lawson Mapp in 1985; she was the first of the three Gordon sisters to make an invaluable contribution to the United Bermuda Party.

Personally, I remember Olympia from Central School days and I was sorry to hear the news.

Our prayers go out to the Gordon family on their loss.
