Fire: Couple Treated for Smoke Inhalation

Fire Dec 05 10-1-2Around 12:30pm this afternoon [Dec 5] two people were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation following a fire in the Pembroke area.

Fortunately they were not seriously injured and have both been discharged from hospital.

The Police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel attended a fire at a Middle Town Drive, Pembroke residence [pictured], and the fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters at the scene.

A 42 year old Pembroke woman and a 45 year old Pembroke man were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation, and released later this afternoon.

Officials say that “there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances,” and that inquiries into this incident are underway.
