Live Webcast: End of Recruit Camp Parade
This afternoon [Jan 29] the Bermuda Regiment Open House and Platoon Drill Competition is taking place at Warwick Camp, and the recruits are going through the final day of the 2011 Bermuda Regiment Recruit Camp.
On January 16, 162 recruits passed through the gates of Warwick Camp and began two weeks of intense training, which saw them take part in physical training sessions, drill, weapon and field craft lessons and much more. Of the total number of new recruits, 36 were volunteers, and 9 of those were female recruits.

Brings tears to my eye’s.
Being told what to do, negative feelings yet one.
Great job young men. Great job.
Yes that’s right col. Gonzales, Ooh! Rah! Ooh! Rah!
Nice!! Teaching the youths weapon and field crafts. And the majority of us wonder why these guys are getting arrested for having guns in their possestion or out there shooting one another. Maybe, just maybe they are developing a love for guns at the training camp? I mean they are learing how to disassemble and reassemble weapons and how to clean and maintain them. I bet you can tie the regiment and a few of these guys that have and are going up for gun charges together.
Just using my common sense here.
What common sense???? Those fools on the street haven’t stepped foot in the Regiment. Furthermore, the guns they train them on in the Army are surely not the types of guns being used in the streets. Stop with the madness please.
When these guys and gals joined the army two weeks ago they did not know each other for the most part but look at what a difference two weeks can make – they are now working and marching in unison. Something positive should be said about that at least.
Positive, sensible comments are warranted. Please save the bulls**t talk to the politicians! Congrats to all that made it through 2011 Recruit Camp and left better Man & Women!
I was waiting for something positive to be said. Thanks “Real”.
When I said it brought tears too my eye’s, that was a refelction of how I felt and still do.
Throw these guys and gals in there. Scream at them, discipline them, encourage them to work together. Be accountable too each other, support each other and scream at each other ( which they do; yah nut pullin yah wait).
Your get a bunch of people thrown together ( repetative) and they can work toward an end.
Screw the nah-sayers…….even with differances in culture, background, origin, et al they are all Onions and what a beautifull field of green that was to watch.
Keep it up in your everyday workings. You made me proud by your shere attitude that we have to work together to become one.
Hats off too Lt.Col Gonsalves and his men and women.
