Police: Driver of Flipped Car Left Scene

This morning [Jan 4] the Bermuda Police confirmed that the driver of the car that overturned on Harrington Sound Road left the scene.

According to a Police spokesman: “A few minutes after 2pm on Monday,Police received a report of single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Harrington Sound Road and Wilkinson Avenue in Hamilton parish. Details are unclear at this time but it appears that the car was traveling along Harrington Sound Road when it collided with a wall.”

“The driver left the scene before first responders arrived and at this time his injures are unknown. The car received extensive damage. An investigation into this incident is underway.”

The car was moved from its overturned position to the side of the road shortly after the accident to allow traffic through.

Police reported two additional damage-only accidents yesterday, with a spokesman saying “Police attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of Somerset Road and Scaur Hill Drive, in Sandy’s. It appears that the car was traveling east along Somerset Road when the driver, a 39 year old Sandy’s man collided with a wall. The driver was not injured. The car received moderate damage.”

“Meantime, 2:27am on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision at the junction of North shore Road and Store Hill, in Hamilton Parish involving a car and a truck. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along North shore Road when they collided. The driver of the car a 37 year old Pembroke man and the driver of the truck a 44 year old Pembroke were not injured. Both vehicles received moderate damage.”

Police inquires into all incidents are underway.
