Butterfield Bank Employees Donate Blood

April 19, 2011

Bradley Rowse, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited joined 10 employees from the Bank’s private banking and investment divisions to give blood at the Bermuda Red Cross’ donation centre at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital last week.

Nir Sadeh, Butterfield’s Vice President and Head of Private Banking, said, “Considering that most of us will require, or have a family member that will require blood for medical treatments at some point, all of us who are able to donate should do so. It only takes an hour and it costs nothing.”

Mr. Rowse commented, “I am proud of the Butterfield team for organising the blood drive internally.” He continued, “I encourage other organisations in Bermuda to do the same.”

There is an ever-present need for blood units of all types to support medical services and surgeries performed on the island, and donations are always welcome. Those interested in donating should contact the Bermuda Red Cross.

Glad to see Butterfield giving blood. They’ve been sucking it out of their shareholders for several years now.
