Man Injured: Bike & Car Collision
[Updated] Shortly after 6:00pm today [May 18], there was an accident involving a bike and a car at the roundabout on Par-la-ville Road, by the BAA field.
Emergency services responded to the scene and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel administered care to the injured man until the ambulance arrived. Traffic flow was hampered as the injured man was tended to before being taken by ambulance to King Edward Memorial Hospital. We unofficially understand the man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, and will update with official information as able.
Update: Police statement:
Around 6:10pm on Wednesday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Par-La-Ville Road and Serpentine Road in Pembroke involving a SUV and a motorcycle.
It appears that both vehicles collided as they attempted to negotiate the round-a-bout at the junction.
The motorcycle rider, a 53 year old Devonshire man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the SUV, a 39 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
