May 24th: Hamilton Road Closures

The City of Hamilton announced the Hamilton road closures that will be in effect on May 24.

The following route will be taken during the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Cycle Race and the In-line Skaters Race: Starting on Front Street at the eastern City boundary and traveling in a westerly direction to the junction of Queen Street, north on Queen Street, west on Church Street, and north on Cedar Avenue.

The finish line for the cyclists will be on Cedar Avenue outside the Leopards Club. The in-line skaters will continue north on Cedar Avenue and will finish on Dutton Avenue adjacent to Bernard Park. The Junior Classic and Marathon Derby will take the same route through the City entering at the western end of Front Street traveling in an easterly direction to the junction of Queen Street, then north on Queen Street, east on Church Street, north on King Street, west on Victoria Street and north on Cedar Avenue to the City boundary

The Bermuda Day Parade will start at 1:30pm on Dutton Avenue turn left onto Marsh Folly to Cedar Avenue. Head south on Cedar Avenue to Church Street. On Church Street turn left to Court Street, at Court Street turn right to Front Street. Turn right on Front Street to Queen Street. Turn right on Queen Street to Church Street then turn left onto Dismont Drive, ending at City Hall Car Park.

The following roads will be closed:

  • Queen Street between Church and Front Streets from 8:45am to 8:30pm.
  • Burnaby Street between Front and Church Streets from 8:45am to 8:30pm.
  • Cedar Avenue between Church Street and the City boundary from 8:45am to 6:00pm.
  • Parliament Street between Front and Dundonald Streets from 8:45am to6:00pm.
  • Court Street between Front and Dundonald Streets from 8:45am to 6:00pm.
  • King Street between Front and Dundonald Streets from 8:45am to 11:30am.
  • Front Street between Bermudiana Road and King Street from 8:45am to6:00pm.
  • Reid Street between Queen and King Streets from 8:45am to 6:00pm.
  • Church Street between Queen and King Streets from 8:45am to 6:00pm.
  • Victoria Street between Wesley and King Streets from 8:45am to 11:30am
  • Between Washington and Brunswick Streets from 11:30am to 6:00pm.
