Traffic Delays After Bike/Car Accident
[Updated] At approximately 4/4:30pm this afternoon [May 11] there was an accident accident at the East Broadway round-a-bout/ Trimingham Hill area. The Police have forewarned to expect major delays in that area, and those traveling home in the rush hour traffic are advised to take an alternate route if possible.
It appears that a bike and car collided, and that the bike driver has been taken to the hospital. We will update with official information as able.
Update 10:07pm: Official Police statement:
Around 4:20pm on Wednesday, Police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Crow Lane (north round-a-bout) and Berry Hill Road in Paget involving a car and an auxiliary cycle.
Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however the auxiliary cycle rider, a 16 year old boy was injured. He sustained arm & leg injuries which are not considered life threatening.
Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately an hour while a traffic collision investigator assessed the incident. Inquiries are ongoing.
Update May 12: To clarify it appears the car was placed on its side after the accident in order to get to the injured 16 year old trapped underneath.
