Ball Hockey: Bermuda Defeat Hungary 12-1

Bermuda has won their second game in at the 2011 Ball Hockey World Championships taking place in Slovakia, defeating Hungary by a very impressive 12-1.

Bermuda are presently undefeated, having previously won 6-1 against the United Kingdom The team also defeated Hong Kong 4-1 during in a warm-up match.

Bermuda took the lead in the first minute when Chris Merritt scored, with Tom Worthington-White picking up the assist. The lead was doubled one minute later Chad Critchley scored with Cory Caouette getting the assist.

In the sixth minute it was 3–0 to Bermuda when Critchley scored from a Worthington-White pass, and then Caouette taking a pass from David Gazzard scored in the 14th minute to make it 4 – 0.

Worthington-White scored in the 15th minute when he put away a pass from Scott Campbell. Hungary pulled a goal back in the 20th minute when Gabor Füzi making the score 5–1.

Gazzard made it 6 – 1, with Chris Lemieux and Pete Brodsky gaining the assist in the 22nd minute, Worthington-White taking a pass from Jeff Ingelman made it 7–1 in the 28th minute, Merritt scored again in the 30th minute making it 8–1, with Worthington-White picking up the assist and Cam Poland scored in the 32nd minute to make it 9–1.

Campbell from a Gazzard pass made it 10–1 in the 34th minute, before Rich Campbell made it 11 – 1 in the 35th minute Pete Brodsky closed out the scoring to make the final score 12–1.

Bermuda’s team consists of: Pete Brodsky, Rich Campbell, Scott Campbell, Cory Caouette, Chris Coleman, Chad Critchley, Troy Dort, Ronnie Dzurus, Dave Gazzard, Mike Gazzard, Jeff Ingelman, Chris Lemieux, Darren Maksymetz, Ben Mann, Shane McKay, Chris Merritt, Monte Palsat, Cam Poland, J. Tremblay, and Tom Worthington-White.

    Does this mean our ball hockey team can receive a grant similar to our national cricket team? Don’t they deserve a trip to Dubai as well?

    No way…this team is mostly made up of Canadians resident in Bermuda…..It is not a Bermudian Team in any way^^

      It’s a team of men who are very proud to wear the Bermudian flag on their jerseys and listen to the anthem after every win.

      Let’s face it if it isn’t cracker or football this country don’t care. Why not cut funding to our gang haven oops sorry I mean sports clubs and put money into other areas ie sunshine league. I am bermudian and spent many a night at admiralty house playing with these guys. This sport is a ton of fun and the guys playing for our country wether bdians or not are dominating other countries. No one from gov. Will be waiting for them when they bring home the gold.
