‘Bermuda Nights’ Starts This Saturday
Limbo dancers and live energetic musical performances will be on tap this weekend, when the Bermuda Department of Tourism [BDOT] officially kicks off ‘Bermuda Nights’ this Saturday, at Barr’s Bay Park. ‘Bermuda Nights’ will take place twice a month from June – October, with free entry for the public.
Two Saturdays a month at Barr’s Bay Park, residents and visitors will be treated to performances by the who’s who of local entertainment, with such performances from such top talent as Prestige, HindSight, Spirit, Working Title, Joy T. Barnum & The Chanel and Homegrown among others.
This Saturday’s entertainment will feature the Native Percent Band, Fire and Limbo Dancers and Prestege. Minister of Business Development and Tourism Patrice Minors said she is “thrilled to see the reintroduction of a local entertainment event for our visitors.”
Minister Minors said, “The BDOT has been hard at work bringing together the right mix of talent to excite our residents and visitors alike, and with the launch of ‘Bermuda Nights’, we are highlighting and showcasing Bermuda’s vast entertainment pool.”
Minister Minors continued, “We want to ensure that our visitors are exposed to the complete Bermuda experience, and so each ‘Bermuda Night’ will not only feature an interactive cultural performance, but we will have some of our signature local cuisine favorites on hand to enhance the evening.
“Good music, fun entertainment and great food is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday night, and I want to encourage all residents to come, bring their friends and families and engage with our visitors in support of ‘Bermuda Nights’ at Barr’s Bay Park.”
All musical genres will be featured, from new and old school reggae to soca; from rock to R&B. All ‘Bermuda Nights’ events are free to the public, and the evening kicks off at 8.00 p.m. and concludes at 10.30 p.m.
Event dates are June 11 & 25, July 9 & 23, August 6 & 20, September 3 & 17, October 1 & 15.
