July 18, 2011

NACAC logoThe North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association [NACAC] held their elections last week, and Bermuda Track & Field [BTFA] President Donna Watson was elected to the Council.

A BTFA spokesperson said, “We are sure Ms Watson will breathe new life and vigour into the Council, just as she has with the BTFA and will serve Bermuda and the Council admirably.”

The race for President was expected to be a close one between Teddy McCook (Past President) and Keith Joseph of St. Vincent & the Grenadine. The members spoke loud and clear and Mr McCook won back his seat with a vote of 20 – 6.

Noel Lynch of Barbados was elected Vice President, and Alain Jean-Pierre of Haiti was elected Treasurer. Joining Ms Watson on the NACAC Council are Alan Baboolal of Trinidad & Tobago, Geen Clarke of Costa Rica, and Robert Hersh of the USA.
