Rain Halts Bermuda Baseball Game in U.S.

July 27, 2011

The Bermuda YAO Under/12 Baseball team is in an overnight rain delay, after trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the third during their second official tournament game versus Maine at the New England Region Baseball Tournament.

Playing through a driving rainstorm, Joey Dougherty was pitching a great game, while Ben Cook recorded Bermuda’s first RBI with a scorched double to left center

Weather conditions made fielding tricky, so organizers stopped yesterday’s game, and said it will resume today [July 27].

So far in the tournament, the Bermuda team is 2-1, having won two games, and lost one. This is the fourth year in a row that Bermuda has sent a team abroad.
