Tyrone Smith To Compete At World Champs
BTFA President Donna Watson said, “Tyrone Smith will be our lone representative at the World Championships being held in Daegu, Korea August 27th to September 4th competing in the Long Jump.”
“We were hoping to have a few more athletes meet the qualifying standard but due to injuries, scheduling etc. we have not reached that goal and will be only sending the one athlete.”
“As there are Congress Meetings and elections in Daegu myself and Freddie Evans (BTFA General Secretary) will be traveling to Daegu.”
“Accompanying Tyrone will be his own personal coach Bryan Schiding. We are hoping for a good performance from Tyrone as he has had a good season leading up to Worlds so hopefully he will peak there.”
