Man Charged With Stealing Cash & Liquor

“Good morning Mr Smith, I haven’t seen you in a long time.”

“Not under these circumstances, Your Honour.”

With Magistrate Archie Warner presiding, that’s how the case of 56-year-old Mervyn Smith commenced in this morning’s Plea Court.

Mr Smith was charged with a 26th August burglary at the Somerset Cricket Club in which it is alleged that cash checks and liquor were stolen. Mr Smith pleaded not guilty, was given a trial date of 28th November, and was released on $2,000 bail.
