Police Investigation After Graveyard Incidents
The police have confirmed they are investigating reports of graves being “disturbed” at the St. John’s Church graveyard in Pembroke.
A police spokesman said, “Around 11am on Thursday, August 25th police responded to an incident at the St. John’s Church graveyard in Pembroke.”
“It appears that seven graves were disturbed by an unknown individual or individuals. Nothing was taken from any of the graves. Due to the sensitive nature of the situation it was not immediately reported by police.”
“Inquiries into this matter are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone with any information to contact the main police number on 295-0011.”
this is yet another example of all time low behavior of some of the SCUM that lives on this island.
‘Tomb robbers ?’ Lord ,even the dead can’t rest in peace in Bermuda any more .. those of us still above the ground don’t stand a chance. (As has become all too obvious in the last few years)

The police should work with the gold peddler in BDA immediately. This is a perfect example of how things are planned may seem good, but all of the ramifications aren’t thoroughly planned out. What a perfect way for criminals to get quick cash…..lesson shown..please apply to legalized gaming.

Stop letting in people from 3rd world countries into Bermuda…period. They come there to work, but “some” realise quickly that Bermuda is paradise. Some find a woman to marry (for Bermuda status) and have babies. Think about it…these babies are now grown and are not cut from the same Bermudian cloth.

What is a man to prosper to gain the world but to lose his soul? Grave robbers have been around from the beginning of time and they’re not necessarily black/white or other(wateverthatis)! Whoever it is the judge needs to know that jail isn’t enough whip their arses and put that as an example to others that this is enough. Change the laws for money/drugs etc change the law to punish these vandils, murderers, rapist anyone that is disturbing the island – or else the island will become the law!!!!!!!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Why would anyone be surprised that people are disturbing graves? Within the last two years we have seen almost 20 murders. Given that Bermuda has a person or persons who are not afraid to place people in a grave, we should not be surprised that we also have those who are prepared to disturb the grave after the murder or any other death. We need to take a good look at Bermuda and hopefully as a result of that review we will be able to guide our country down a path that will return us to the safe, friendly, society we used to be.

This is the lowest…We have really changed as a people, when I was young I was afraid to walk through the grave yard, or even swear in a cemetery. Hell if I find the nerve to open up a grave.. Lord Help our Island!!

I’ld like to know where ya’all got ur info from cause it doesn’t say anything about the graves being robbed in the paper? People vandalizing graves has happened here before,just not as frequent…Either way u look at it, its a lack of moral respect for the families!!! Doesn’t matter if they were disturbed or robbed both are a disrespect to the people whose loved ones are buried there. I cannot be there but my father is in that Graveyard I do not know if his was disturbed but Whoever is doing this nneds to stop or someone will stop them not nesasarily the police.
