Street Light Maintenance Underway

September 27, 2011

A BELCO spokesperson said, “BELCO has had numerous enquiries in recent months about street lights that are not working. BELCO wishes the public to know that it has a contract with Government to install bulbs and to maintain the street light bulbs that are supplied by the Ministry of Pubic Works. Public Works is responsible for supplying all required materials needed to ensure that street lights work correctly.”

“In recent months, there have been delays in getting materials to the Island. However, we are pleased to say that a shipment of new materials has arrived and BELCO crews are currently addressing outstanding maintenance requests.
Enquiries about street lighting can be directed either to Public Works at 297-7989 or to BELCO at 295-5111 or info@belco.bm.”

It’s the pre-election tart-up of the island. You will start to notice roads being repaired in marginal seats. Hedges will be neatly trimmed. Roads will be swept. “Work” will start on new hotels.

Lol. How about road maintenance to front street and others that need it not some patch up job.
