Visitors Injured After Rental Bike Hits Pole
Yesterday afternoon [Sept.18] police responded to a single vehicle accident in Paget involving a rental cycle.
A police spokesperson said, “At 12:26pm on Sunday September 18, Police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on South Road, Paget near the intersection with Stowe Hill. It appears that a 65 year old American male visitor was riding a rental cycle on South Road and collided with a utility pole.”
“The rider and pillion passenger, a 51 year old American woman both received injuries but they are not considered to be life threatening. At last check, the rider remained in hospital receiving treatment.”

It is time that we became a competitive destination and rented small cars to tourists. For a supposedly modern society not to rent cars is totally stupid and ridiculous.
Are you kidding ? Our roads are saturated now as it is ..there isn’t room for rental bikes and you want to put more cars on the road ? ?
I am saying that it is one of the things we should do to be competitive. We need to be competitive if we want to be in the tourism business. Yes we have too many cars on the road – so do many other places – but they still rent cars to tourists.
Bermudians have never had to bite the bullet before – now is the time or fade into insignificance.
Say say say. A very stupid idea to allow tourist rent cars.
