Upcoming: OBA Education Town Hall

October 12, 2011

On Thursday, October 13, the One Bermuda Alliance [OBA] will host an Education Town Hall, with the panelists to include Shadow Education Minister Dr. Grant Gibbons and Toni Spring, the OBA candidate for Constituency 33. The Town Hall will be held at the Willowbank Conference Centre, 126 Somerset Road, starting at 7pm.

An OBA spokesperson said, “It promises to be a different sort of meeting – an “Interactive Forum on Education” – where the emphasis will be as much on hearing what people have to say about education needs today as communicating OBA goals and objectives for education. The interactive approach is in keeping with our commitment as a party to broaden input into policy development.”

“Topics to be addressed include: Parental involvement in schools, Technical/vocational curriculum, Life skills, Longer school day and Pre-schools.”

“The OBA sees education as the most fundamentally important issue before Bermuda today. Get it right and other intractable problems will become more solvable. Our aim is to provide the best possible education for our children.”
