Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drive

November 12, 2011

The family of Malcolm ‘Mal’ Lewis in conjunction with the Dana Faber Cancer Institute has initiated an online Bone Marrow Donor registry drive. Launching live this Monday [Nov.14] through November 27, 2011. Mr. Lewis, a former national level footballer and father of three, was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

A statement from the BFA said, “Please go online www.marrow.org and click join now and then follow the instructions. The online code is bermuda11, fill out the consent form and the materials required will be mailed to your homes.

“Those persons who do not have access to a computer can go to the Young Mens Social Club located 32 Angle St and the corner of Princess Street on Saturday, November 19, 2011 between the hours of 11:00am through 3:00pm to register, assistance will be provided.

“There are no costs and submitting a sample is not a commitment to donate bone marrow. In order for this to be a successful operation you must be a perfect match. Please take the time to consider joining, it could mean saving someone’s life.”

“For more information on this drive, call Dawnette @293- 2761, Jocene @505- 0209 and Jill @332 – 3112″

When I go to “Join Now” it won’t let me go further unless I say I am a resident of the US or Puerto Rico. How do I remedy this? I can see nowhere where I select the Bermuda code of bermuda 11.
