East End Plans Second ‘Art In The Park’ Show

Thanks to the great success of a similar event in August, St. George’s is hosting the second Art in the Park show on December 4 from 10 am- 4pm in Somers Garden.

About 20 artists are participating including Milton Hill, Chris Grimes, Heidi Cowan, Vanese Gordon, Ami Zanders, Vanessa Redgrave and Calix Smith.

On Saturday [Nov.12] hundreds of people attended the first Art Walk in the East organised by the St. George’s Artists Alliance.

More than a dozen East End artists and shops participated in that event which included the official opening of Bermudian painter Chris Dawson’s new gallery.

His gallery has original oil paintings on display and for sale ranging from landscapes, seascapes to portraits — with the subjects ranging from people to pets..

In recent months the Old Town has been capitalising on its growing reputation as a centre for Bermudian artists and the alternative arts scene.
