ESC has opened its first art show, The Art of Framing, a special exhibition in its upstairs showroom and gallery space at 4 Mill Creek Road.

A spokesperson said, “ESC has opened its first art show, The Art of Framing, a special exhibition in its upstairs showroom and gallery space at 4 Mill Creek Road. Running until November 30, the free exhibition presents 31 framed artworks by individual local artists.

“Each frame was uniquely designed by ESC’s framing designers and expertly assembled by their talented framers. The result is framing that is a work of art in itself, complementing each artist’s vision.

“The exhibition opened on Friday, October 30, with a reception attended by more than 80 guests, including featured artists and art lovers from across the island. The concept was previously tested by Frameworks Limited in 2014, which resulted in a hugely successful event for both the company and participating artists. Now in 2026, ESC’s Paige Eversley and Keely Horsfall, formally of Frameworks Limited, were quick to encourage ESC to recreate the show.”

“We had so much fun designing this show with our colleagues, but we would like to shout out our framers,” they said. “Their craftsmanship, expertise, creative input and patience are what made this show outstanding.”

A spokesperson added, “Each piece has been given its own unique, complimentary frame design. In some instances, shadowbox framing was utilized: a tall frame with a buildup on the interior sides of the frame, separating the artwork and glass to create dimension and depth within the frame. Layered matting, vibrantly coloured frames and built-in lighting have been implemented to bring other pieces to life. The framing for each artwork was designed and constructed in ESC’s workshop.

“The idea behind the show is twofold: to highlight the range of framing options available locally, and to support the island’s art community.”

“I’m honoured to have worked alongside so many incredible artists through ESC, and we’re happy to provide such an essential service to our creative community. This exhibition is a way to celebrate both Bermuda art and the skill and artistry inherent in Framing. We hope to inspire our customers and demonstrate the variety that we can provide on island,” said Sophia Tessitore, curator of The Art of Framing exhibition and frame designer at ESC.

A spokesperson added, “Featured artists include Meredith Andrews, Nhuri Bashir, Stachia Burger, Fayelle Wharton Bush, Eli Cedrone, Gretchen Conyers, James Doughty, Naomi Every, Graham Foster, John Gardner, Sheilagh Head, Shanna Hollis, Phoebe Hughes, Elizabeth Mulderig, Tristan Narraway, Holly Nichols, Andrea Ottley, Janet Percy, Lee Petty, Marlie Powell, DaeLyn Saint-Surin, Carlos Santana, Michele Smith and Andrew Stevenson with a selection of artworks from ESC Staff members Liane Abel, Sameehah Al-Amin, Salae Dyer, Sharon Every, Jocelyn Powell and Sophia Tessitore.
