Chris & Ashley Estwanik Win 2011 Bacardi 8K
[Updated with full results] Husband and wife duo Chris and Ashley Estwanik repeated their wins from last year, and ran away with the Male and Female Bacardi 8K Titles this morning [Nov.20].
The race started and finished at Bacardi Headquarters, with runners heading along Pitt’s Bay Road to Cox’s Hill Roundabout, St. John’s Road, North Shore Road, then heading back along Pitts Bay Road. Organised by the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club [MAAC], the race was open to entrants 18 years or older.
Chris Estwanik broke the course record when he crossed the line in a time of 24:46, breaking Lamont Marshall’s time of 25:25 set back in 2009. Second to cross the line was Gary Raynor with a time of 27:48 and Christopher Harris finished 3rd clocking 29:15.
Ashley Estwanik finished 15th overall with a time of 31:44, Jennifer Alen was the second female finisher 16th overall clocking a time of 32:01 and May 24th champion Deon Breary was the third female finisher finishing 22nd overall in a time of 32:59.
