2nd Annual Mountain Bike End-to-End

January 4, 2012

The 2nd annual Mountain Bike End-to-End Race takes place Sunday, January 8th, 2012. As in the inaugural event, riders set off from the Clocktower, Dockyard heading towards Ferry Reach. This year riders will be trying to keep within the 1:47:10 record set in 2011 race.

There is a lot of speculation amongst the mountain bike fraternity as to who will be contenders to match or break the 2011 record as there is uncertainty as to whether Neil de ste Croix or Grant Goudge will be defending the record they both set.

Riders to keep an eye on will be Dominic Mayho; Peter Dunne and Hans Hirschi [2011 Rookie of year] who have been riding with the taste of victory in their mouths. In hot pursuit of a top 5 finish are Treshun Correira, Paul Madeiros and any of the Team Madison riders.

During the event riders will be treated to a scenic combination of terrains including railway trails, parks and road.

The Mountain Biking End-to End Race is the season opener for The Latter Rain Water Service 2012 Mountain Bike Racing series. The series sees a race take place each Sunday from January 8 to March 25 at various parks and 3 specialty races [2 End-to-End & the Endurance Race] and the Winners Edge National Championship.
