Drunk Driving: 3 Arrests, 2 Accidents

Three people were arrested this weekend on suspicion of impaired driving, two of them having driven their vehicles into walls. On Saturday [Jan.14] a 45-year-old man was arrested, on Sunday [Jan.15] a 41-year-old man was arrested, and on Monday [Jan.16] a 31-year-old man was arrested.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:15am on Saturday January 14th, police officers on mobile patrol along North Shore Road, Pembroke noticed a car that had collided with a wall near the junction with Langton Hill. Officers approached the car and spoke to the driver who appeared to be intoxicated.

“As a result, the 45 year old Devonshire man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of impaired driving. There were no reported injuries. The car was damaged and later towed away from the scene.”.

“Around 5:45am on Sunday January 15th, police responded to a reported single vehicle collision on South Road, Devonshire near the junction with Brimstone Hill. It appears that a car was travelling along South Road when it collided with a wall. The car and the wall were damaged and the car was later towed away from the scene.

“There were no reported injuries. The driver, a 41 year old Smith’s man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of impaired driving.

“Around 1:15am on Monday January 16th, police officers on patrol along Middle Road, Paget noticed a car that was driving erratically near the junction with Dudley Hill. The driver, a 31 year old Pembroke man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving as a result.”

The police said that all three men failed the alco-analyser test, and are expected to make court appearances.
