Motorcyclists Injured In Paget Accident
[Updated] Emergency services responded to South Road, Paget near the junction with Southcote Road at approximately 7:30pm this evening [Jan.30], to what we unofficially understand was an accident involving two motorcycles.
Fire Service and police attended the scene near the Elbow Beach Hotel before an ambulance took the injured parties to the hospital for treatment.
Police remained on the scene investigating the accident, and left the area at approximately 9:10pm.
Bystanders told Bernews that two males were injured and taken in the ambulance.
In addition, at around the same time there was another accident on South Road, Paget near the Modern Mart where we unofficially understand one person was injured and also taken to hospital by ambulance.
Update: A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:30pm on Monday, January 30th police and first responders attended a reported collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with Southcote Road involving a motorcycle and an auxiliary cycle.
“It appears that both vehicles were travelling along South Road when they collided. The rider and pillion passenger of the auxiliary cycle a 34 year old Devonshire man and a 31 year old Devonshire woman respectively as well as the rider of the motorcycle, a 60 year old Pembroke man were injured.
“All three were taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The auxiliary cycle rider is currently in stable condition on a general ward and his pillion passenger was treated for relatively minor injuries and later released.
“The motorcycle rider is still being assessed at the hospital. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”
