February 8, 2012

The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) and the National Academy program announced that Catlin Bermuda is the title sponsor of the National Academy program.

A statement said, “You recall we made the announcement in October of last year that 184 boy’s and girl’s ranging between (11 -17) years of age will be fully kitted out while they represent the National Academy.

“Thanks to our sponsor, Catlin Bermuda we are pleased to announce the unveiling of the new kit for the National Academy program. The training kit will consist of two training outfits, a track suit and training bag for each player.

“The National Academy program has been in existence for the past three years. During that time a number of our young players have come through the program and gone on to better themselves on the international stage and/ or represent their country.

“Devarr Boyles, BFA National Youth Director, and Coaches Maurice Lowe, Gary Darrell, Scott Morton and Physio & Sports Science expert Craig Brown have spent countless hours with our players.

“The commitment and dedication they’ve provided has help foster the program with its success today. The bar has been raised once again for the program with Catlin becoming the sponsor of the National Academy program.”

Devarr Boyles, BFA National Youth Director, said: “This is a major milestone for the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) National Academy program. Our players will now be fully fitted in their National Academy training gear during every training session.

“I sincerely want to take this opportunity to thank our sponsor Catlin Bermuda for making this happen. History is being made as they became the first title sponsor of our program, in addition afforded the opportunity for our players to have their own National Academy training gear. The National Academy model still emanates current and future possibilities for Bermuda in Football.”
Graham Pewter, CEO & President of Catlin Bermuda commented: “All of us at Catlin are delighted to have made our commitment to support the National Youth Academy. We have enjoyed working with the BFA and its officers in recent months and expect to work in partnership in the years ahead to build on the Academy’s early success.

“I think that the kit looks great and hope that the Academy players will wear their shirts and tracksuits with pride. The Academy is doing important work in developing young players who will in time form the nucleus of our senior national teams and we can all look forward to great things in tournaments that lie ahead.

:Our Company’s slogan is “Underwriting Ambition”. Through this partnership with the BFA, we intend to help underwrite the sporting ambitions of Bermuda’s young footballers”
