Brothers Plead Guilty To Obstructing Police
In Plea Court this morning [Mar.21], brothers Jahfari [20] and Sadune [18] Raynor, pleaded guilty to a combination of three offences involving obstruction of police and using threatening words to police.
Magistrate Khomisi Tokunbo convicted each man and sent the older brother to prison for twenty days and fined the younger brother $500.
The DPP Prosecutor told the Magistrate that about 10:50am on Tuesday 20th March 2012, Police had seen Sadune Raynor riding a motorcycle along Victoria Street, in close proximity to the Police station.
Knowing him to be a person disqualified from riding or driving, Police hailed him, and eventually stopped him. When he had been stopped, Police questioned him and confirmed that he was a disqualified driver. Police then sought to take Sadune Raynor to the nearby Police station.
At this juncture, Jahfari Raynor intervened and threatened one of the officers saying: “You don’t know who I am. I’ll f##k you up, b%$ch…”
He tried to free his younger brother and Police then arrested him. This struggle started on the side of Victoria Street and continued across the street right to the entrance of the Police station.
Magistrate Tokunbo asked the brothers if they had anything to say. Sadune Raynor sought to explain that ‘the woman’ hadn’t given him a ticket and that he didn’t know why he’d been arrested; but Magistrate Tokunbo cut that short and levied a $500 fine.
Older brother Jahfari Raynor said that he was sorry and that he apologized to the Court. In determining sentence, Prosecutor Cindy Clarke told the Magistrate that Jahfari Raynor had recently appeared in Court for a similar offence.
In December 2011, Jahfari Raynor pleaded guilty having to using threatening behavior. The incident, which was caught on CCTV, occurred in a corridor in the Magistrates Court building, and involved Mr Raynor threatening someone said to be a rival gang member.
Noting this, the Magistrate told him this morning that it was obvious that he had not learned a lesson and proceeded to sentence him to twenty days in jail.

Good! I’m glad he received a swift kick, although 20 days isn’t a deterrent to these tyrants. “You don’t know who I am.” Oh ok, the Magistrate should have asked him the same thing, and then showed him by handing down a heavier prison sentence.
You guys really don’t learn.. But yet you will say sorry whle in court, and what will 20 days do to him. He will save up $2.50 a day and come out with a few dollars and do the SAME BS !!!
Thats the problem with this place. People doing what they want from punks like this, right up to some of the clowns in government.
“You dont know who I am, I’ll F* you up”. Self righteous attitude seems to be instilled into people at a young age and carried on into older years.
(I purposely didn’t say ‘adult years’ as many never grow out of being spoiled).
The reason he gave for his behavior is “the woman didnt give him a ticket”.
I suppose he thought that he was entitled to ride his bike wiothout a license.
Again, idiots thinking they are above ALL and do what they want.
last time he got locked up for 10 days.. now 20… WTF.. GIVE HIM YEARS!
So using threatening words to a police officer receives the same fine as riding while listening to your iPod? Sounds fair…
great point!!
Actually according to the article threatening words to a police officer netted the defendent 20 days in jail. The $500 fine was for riding while disqualified…

These boys are consistently in trouble – being shot at, threatening behavior. They are not learning from experience. They need something more effective than fines and 20 days.
Doesnt help that they were charged in court for being in a hotel alongside their mother and her young boyfriend with smoking weed a couple years back…
The best part is we get to pay, house and feed these people up at WestGate, and than they come out and do the same all over again. I hope I get to read in the paper from the Mother tomorrow commenting on what GOOD boys they are, that is always my favorite part.
Its a long one way road outta west better take the ferry buddy!
I just pray that their family, their community leaders or friends have the stregnth, knowledge and ability to wake these guys up and have them see the big picture before they wake up one day facing life in prison… or worse death.
I bet the June they will be back in court for the same type of behavior! Something needs to give while jail is the quick solution what is being done to deter these boys from further incident as its obvious jail isn’t working. Being so young they still have a chance to get it right its evident the mother cannot control them she needs help. As a community we need to step in and save these boys from themselves.
@Dont get it: ayo real tlk don try dis my bras yoo, cos u wa get dealt wif teww g…lol thn maybe its gne b yh mamas turn teww giv ah speak
I wonder who else on their payroll? Lol
To all you asinine people talking about using offensive words gets you the same fine, maybe you should learn to read. It is obviously stated that he received a fine for riding without a license. People are always quick to talk crap & know NOTHING. LAY IN THE CUT & MIND YOUR BUSINESS. Pick up a book and learn to read before you get smart.
