Guilty Plea: Threatening Behaviour
19-year-old Jahfari Raynor – who was said to be associated with ‘Parkside’ – pleaded guilty this morning [Dec.19] to having used threatening behavior in the Magistrates Court building.
The incident – which was caught on CCTV - occurred around 10:15am last week Thursday [Dec.15] in a corridor outside Magistrates Courts in the Dame Lois Browne building in Hamilton.
The Prosecutor said that in the company of others, Mr Raynor had just left Magistrate Court #1 after being released on bail, and was walking towards the exit when he spotted members of ’42.’
The evidence was that Mr Raynor had adopted a fighting stance and had said “We will be waiting for you when you come out.” Mr Raynor also admitted throwing a punch at another person.
Senior Magistrate Archie Warner adjourned the matter to 5th January 2012 and remanded Mr Raynor into custody.

Bernews:- once again I wish the news organizations wud stop giving these guys due respect by referring to these gangs by their own given names eg “parkside – 42 and MOB” Why give them that respect? and instead use “Parsons Road area – St Monica’s Road area and Somerset area!

The use of the ‘gang’ name is as an area resident and a gang member are two entirely different things…not all members of ’42′ live in the St Monica’s Road area, and obviously most the residents of the St Monica’s area aren’t in a gang. Same thing applies for Parkside/Parsons Rd etc.
One could say ‘area based gang’, which we have done before, and that generated complaints also. Despite our best efforts, we can’t please everyone’s personal tastes, so we just try and do as best we can do accommodate all tastes.

I just think too much credit and respect is given to these guys when the name of the gang appears all over the media. It’s like justifacation that they are actually ligitimate. I believe Bernews wud get so much credit if they didn’t use their own given gang titles. However I understand and thank you for your response.
