Results: Premier & First Division Football

League Football action continued this past weekend with games being played at venues around the island. One game of note was Dandy Town Hornets vs Devonshire Cougars, where Minister of Sports Glenn Blakeney was on hand to present the Dandy Town Hornets their Digicel Premier Division Trophy after the match.

First Division:

Paget Lions 0 Wolves 2

At the White Hill Field, the Wolves secured the First Division title but will collect it at the end of the season. Tory Davis and Vincent Minors Jr. scored a goal each for Wolves to defeat the Paget Lions 2 – 0.

Young Men Social Club 12 Ireland Rangers 1

At the Bernard Park, Young Men Social Club got four goals from Robert Rawlins, two goals apiece from Zeiko Lewis, Charmari Burns and Andrew Samuels as they defeated Ireland Rangers 12 – 1. Derwin Adams and Brighton Swan both scored a goal each for Young Men Social Club while Anton Bean scored the lone goal for Ireland Rangers.

Prospect United 1 BAA 7

At the Police Field, visiting BAA defeated Prospect United 7 – 1. Quintonio Lema scored a hat-trick while Ian Simmons added two and Kevin Bean scored once for BAA in the win. Makai Young scored the lone goal for Prospect United.

Premier Division:

Southampton Rangers 0 Boulevard Blazers 0

At the Southampton Oval, the do-or-die match ended scoreless as the Boulevard Blazers who entered the game needing a win to survive have now been relegated.

Dandy Town Hornets 1 Devonshire Cougars 3

At the St. John’s Field, Moses Steede gave the visiting Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 23rd minute when he converted from the penalty spot. Tre Manders equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 40th minute. Jesse Seymour put the Devonshire Cougars back infront in the 86th minute and then Tre Dill scored for the Devonshire Cougars two minutes later to make it 3 – 1. Following the game the Minister of Sports Glenn Blakeney was on hand to present the Dandy Town Hornets their Digicel Premier Division Trophy.

North Village Rams 3 Somerset Trojans 0

At the Bernard Park, Kiawon Dill gave the North Village Rams a 1 – 0 lead over the Somerset Trojans in the 22nd minute. Jason Lee doubled the lead in the 39th minute and Ralph Bean closed out the scoring for the home team in the 70th minute.

St. David’s 2 St. George’s Colts 5

At Lord’s in St. David’s, Zachary Morris gave St. David’s the lead in the 6th minute but the St. George’s Colts drew level in the 32nd minute when Shea Pitcher scored. Pitcher then put the St. George’s Colts in front in the 54th minute but Morris drew St. David’s level in the 60th minute. Allan Douglas Jr. then put the visiting St. George’s Colts back in front in the 71st minute. Nine minutes later Pitcher completed his hat-trick when he scored from the penalty spot and then in injury time David Signor scored for St. George’s to make the final score 5 – 2.

Robin Hood 3 PHC Zebras 2

At the BAA Field, Cecoy Robinson gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 26th minute. Drewonde Bascome equalized for Robin Hood in the 32nd minute and Antwan Russell then put PHC back in front in the 58th minute when he converted from the penalty spot. Bascome once again equalized for Robin Hood in the 67th minute and then four minutes later Bascome completed his hat-trick and earned Robin Hood a 3 – 2 win over the PHC Zebras.
