May 24th Holiday Waste Collection Advisory

The Department of Waste Management advised of the waste collection schedule for the upcoming Bermuda Day holiday.

“West end waste will be collected on Wednesday, May 23rd and east end waste will be collected on Friday, May 25th. There will be no waste collection on the May 24th Bermuda Day Holiday,” said a statement.

“Recycling pick up is not scheduled for this week, but will be picked up in the west end on Thursday, May 31st and in the east end on Friday, June 1st.

    This is rather pointless considering that the notice comes on the day the trash needs to be collected.
    So what if the holiday schedule is available on the Gov website, on time notice is always appreciated. Just a thought.

      I can appreciate your point but at the beginning of every year W$E send out a yearly trash collection schedule to all households by mail . I even make sure that any extras go to my neighbours incase they thought it was junk mail and tossed them the first time around.

      There really ought to be no need to even advertise the public holiday collection schedule.

      ps, And please people , STOP putting your garbage out the night/day before collection . At first it was stray dogs and cats , but now we have the kiskadees and starlings tearing the bags to pieces !
