Prospects For Bermuda Parade Are “Fantastic”

February 3, 2022 | 1 Comment

In news that will be welcomed by many, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Sport Dr Ernest Peets said that the prospects of having the Bermuda Day parade this year look “fantastic.”

While the island had the road race portion last year and some other celebratory aspects, the actual Bermuda Day parade itself has not been held since the pandemic started.

A look at some of the 2016 Bermuda Day Parade:

When asked during today’s [Feb 3] episode of Bernews News & Views what are the chances of having a proper Bermuda Day parade this year, the Minister told Bernews, “The prospects look absolutely fantastic.”

Minister Peets added, “I’m certainly looking forward to the remainder of 2022 as it relates to some of the things we’ve got planned, and one of those, of course, is the return in full of Bermuda Day as we know it.

“We don’t have the theme yet, but I’m pretty sure the Department of Culture is working on that at the moment. Last year’s theme, of course, was on ‘Resilience,’ so perhaps this year is going to be on ‘Celebration.’ Perhaps.”
