BHI Hospitality Trail Prize Winners Announced
In celebration of Heritage Month’s focus on Hospitality, BHI developed Hospitality Trail Guides showcasing the variety of Hospitality Related businesses, organizations and activities in Bermuda.
“The guides provided a fun way for locals and visitors to learn more about the Island’s hospitality focused businesses,” said Karla Lacey, CEO of the Bermuda Hospitality Institute.
Promoted with the support of the Department of Community & Cultural Affairs, each guide focused on a particular area of the Island: Central & City; Eastern Areas; Western Areas; Shore & Sound, and coincided with weekly promotions, including hotel tours and special discounts from restaurants to boat rentals.
All who completed the various trails and turned in the correct responses were entered in a prize draw which resulted in the following persons winning prizes:
- Central & City Trail Guide Winner: Mia Pauwels, One night stay with breakfast at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess
- Eastern Area Trail Guide Winners (2): Elizabeth Roberts, Spa Journey at Sense Spa, Rosewood Tuckers Point and Mercedes Correia, Brunch for 2 at Grotto Bay Hotel
- Shore & Sound Trail Guide Winners (2): Karen Simmons, One night stay with breakfast and round of golf at Newstead Belmont Hills and Dawnette Somner, 60 minute massage at Newstead Spa
- Western Area Trail Guide Winner: Sandra Ogden, One night stay with breakfast at Cambridge Beaches Resort
“The Trail Guides will be included in our Hospitality Skills = Life Skills school program and will continue to be promoted through our activities on an on‐going basis,” said Ms. Lacey. “We look forward to again promoting the industry with a similar series of events in early Spring, 2013.”
