Meet 2012 Miss Warwick: Deshona Perinchief
In the fourth of a series of profiles of contestants, Bernews today spotlights Deshona Perinchief who is representing Warwick Parish in the upcoming Miss Bermuda Pageant.
Ms Perinchief is a graduate of Sandy Point High School in St. Kitts, and says she may have a Kittitian accent but is a “Bermudian through and through.”
Presently employed by the MarketPlace as a cashier, she has a Associates Degree in Office Administration and Business Management, and enjoys singing, dancing, fashion design, art and theatre in her spare time.
Asked why she entered Miss Bermuda, she said, “I entered the Miss Bermuda Pageant simply because I believed it would be a good experience for me as a young women and of course because of the opportunity to represent my country at Miss World. I wanted the opportunity to learn more about myself, to stay positive and to have fun as well.”
Asked what she has enjoyed about the experience so far, Ms Perinchief said, “I enjoy getting to know the other contestants and learning more about my country and how to improve my weaknesses and strengths.
“I’m both nervous and excited about getting on stage because it’s my first time participating in a pageant, especially one that could change my life forever,” said Ms Perinchief. “I’m also excited to just to showcase my heritage; I have a Kittitian accent but I’m a Bermudian through and through.”
The 2012 Miss Bermuda Pageant is scheduled to take place Sunday July 8th, at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel where reigning queen Jana Outerbridge will crown her successor.
