Police: ‘No Longer Treating Death As Suspicious’

The police are no longer treating the death of 41-year-old Ms Fredericka Fox as suspicious, the police said this afternoon [June 4].

The police said, “An autopsy has been conducted by an overseas forensic pathologist, and the findings have been shared with the family of Ms. Fox.

“The results of the autopsy are subject to consideration by the Coroner thus will not be released publicly; however the Bermuda Police Service is no longer treating this matter as a suspicious death.”

The full police statement is below:

Detectives from the Bermuda Police Service Serious Crime Unit are continuing investigations into the death of 41 year old Ms. Fredericka Fox, whose body was found inside the shed of a Point Shares, Pembroke residence, during the early evening hours of Friday 1st June, 2012.

“An autopsy has been conducted by an overseas forensic pathologist, and the findings have been shared with the family of Ms. Fox.

“The results of the autopsy are subject to consideration by the Coroner thus will not be released publicly; however the Bermuda Police Service is no longer treating this matter as a suspicious death.

“The investigation into the circumstances of Ms. Fox’s death is ongoing and officers are still interested in speaking with anyone that may have seen Ms. Fox from Thursday 24th May, 2012, or have any information whether they believe it to be important or not.

“Anyone with information relating to this matter is asked to contact Detective Inspector Dave Greenidge on 247-1185 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477 (TIPS).” “

    Maybe in future, unless the Police find a body that has been beaten, mutilated, unclothed, etc., they should not report their findings as suspicious until the forensics have done their job. Some people just don’t have the common sense to keep their mouths shut! RIP Fredericka!

      I don’t think they have much choice. They have to investigate all possibilities. I think the fault lies with the silly speculative comments.

    So sad. Despite her burdens, Fredericka was always well mannered and polite. For some reason she always called me cousin (although we are not related) and I will miss seeing her around town calling out, “Hey cousin!” R.I.P. Ms. Fox.
