Police Seize 21 Marijuana Plants In St George’s
[Updated] Police are presently on scene in the east end this morning [June 30], seizing several marijuana plants in the Smiths Hill Drive, St. George’s area as well as Battery Road area in St David’s.
Police are still on the scene investigating, and we will update with additional information shortly.
Around this time last year, police seized a number of 5-ft tall marijuana plants from the same general area
Update 1.06pm: There are approximately 21 plants and “accessories relating to the cultivation of marijuana”, the police said.

If you don’t think it’s important I’m guessing you have been lucky enough not to have a family member affected by drug use. I ha’ve and it all began with a little “harmless” weed. Or let me guess, you are a dope smoker….or “recreational user” . These is a reason why they call it dope. I’ve never met a dope smoker that didn’t THINK they were normal and intelligent but that in reality was stupid. There is a reason why most people GROW UP AND QUIT. Some don’t see the side affects and can’t quit and eventually have a mind of mush. Three of my five best friends in school were and are chronic weed smokers and are now useless to everyone including their employers and family. Two family members…same situation.
so what about the persons like me who work all day and enjoy a smoke at the end of the night before bed? oh and as for being useless to employers explain how I managed two promotions in under 6months and have become a great asset to the company?
as for dope that destroys people…try looking at alcohol, how many persons in your family are homeless because of beer????

Image what you could have done if you weren’t a dope smoker – three or four promtions maybe, instead of two? Weed , like alcohol or coke does not erode your brain cells instantly. The effects are slow and can take place gradually over time. Sad part is before you start to realize it is frying your brain cells it will be to late. I know alcoholics and coke addicts that have recieved promotions too? Eventually it catches up to them, changes them and poof promotions lead to demotions. Keep it up @will and you will see.

as for weed killing brain cells thats a total myth, the government eventually released that study and realised that the research they funded used monkeys which were pumped full of only smoke, the equivalent to 20 joints in one sitting, so yah, of course lack of oxygen kills brain cells. What of the new research that shows parts of cannabis can inhibit brain cell growth..or are you to naive and brainwashed to think weed is that evil drug that makes people kill others, or step in white peoples shadows or look twice at a white woman!!!

Did these friends go to college, did they even graduate high school? And how is it that everyone is fine with people having a glass of wine. Good to see another crop of this deadly plant has been seized before this “plant-like material” made it to our streets tearing apart thousands of families island wide. Do these guys only think about themselves when planting these things? Any small featus or leprechaun innocently playing around these deadly plants could easily trip over a pot and skin a knee, or worse, lose an eye to one of those razor sharp “plant-like” leaves. God forbid a child were to ingest one of these lethal plants, could you imagine the the repercussions later in life, if for just 45mins, that child didn’t give a f@ck about the toy you refused to buy them at the store. Without the irradication of these deadly “plant-like” plants, that produce more oxygen than normal trees, all life as we know it is doomed. WELL DONE BPS!

What a pathetic waste of resources.
Be realistic. People are never going to stop using this plant. It’s expensive to incarcerate people over associating with this plant. Perhaps in smoke form, smoke itself can harm people, though studies have shown this plant to decrease cancer risk (perhaps best used in a humidifier). Money that some gangs who sell marijuana also use the money to fund other illegal things. Government regulation just makes sense, at the very least for medical purposes. People who dislike gangs and want to dismantle gang economy should seriously consider government legalisation and regulation. Not to mention it would ensure the consumer of not buying a laced product and getting addicted to something harder. For the record, I’ve never smoked weed, but I do appreciate the amount of oxygen this plant produces, it is comforting among the gas fumes.
