Thirty Local Gymnasts To Compete In Florida

Bermuda will send a team of 30 gymnasts to compete at the USAIGC National and International Gymnastics Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida over the week of June 24th – July 1st 2012.

This is the pinnacle competition of the year for the Bermuda Gymnastics Team, and one in which the team has been participating for over 10 years. This year’s 30 person squad is the largest ever for the island. In order to be eligible, the gymnasts had to earn a minimum qualifying score in at least one of three USAIGC sanctioned meets earlier this season.

The week long competition consists of 5 different levels of artistic gymnastics as well as a rhythmic gymnastics session [Bermuda will participate in the rhythmic event for the first time this year]. The gymnasts will take on teams from all over the United States, as well as Canada and South Africa at this major event.
