Videos: Heavy Rain Greets Morning Commuters
[Updated] Morning commuters faced traffic delays in certain areas this morning [June 15] as heavy rains fell over the island, causing flooding in many locations including Dundonald Street, Woodlawn Rd, Bakery Lane [pictured below] Bernards Parks and more.
Bakery Lane in Pembroke was severely flooded, with one car practically swimming through the area, and locals took the opportunity to get out a small boat and paddle their way through, as shown on the Youtube video below.
The Bermuda Weather Service issued a Thunderstorm Advisory for this morning, with their forecast saying, “Low pressure to our near west gradually sinks south and becomes slow moving in our vicinity.
“This sets up a rather unsettled Friday and weekend ahead, with plenty of cloud and patchy rain or showers. Some of the showers are likely to be heavy with the risk of thunder and gusty winds.”
Update 10pm: Another video courtesy of a Youtuber is below, showing another car stuck on Bakery Lane.

Tank rain!
Sure is…i wonder when the photos will surface of the water outside of masters and at tcd.
Now I know why DoT used videos from last summer to promote February.
I am so glad all that money was spent on the canal by BAA so the road wouldn’t flood……
you know! what a waste!
lmao love it!
I went to church yesterday .
The heavens opened up last night.
Coincidence or not ? ?
Yes, coincidence.
Gotta love them Bakery Lane byes – a good laugh and worthy of an award! Great rain to fill everyone’s tank before the summer, who cares about a few flooded roads. Get over yourselves you moaners and groaners.
