Firefighters Respond To Sandys House Fire

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at a Sandys house this evening [July 8], with two firefighters taking approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control. The fire damage was contained to one room, with the remainder of the house suffering some smoke damage.

A Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service [BFRS] spokesperson said: “BFRS received a 911 call at 7:09pm reporting a fire at 1 Loyalty Estates, Sandys. BFRS responded with 3 vehicles and 9 personnel. The first arriving appliance found a single story dwelling with smoke and flames issuing.

“Two firefighters in breathing apparatus took approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control. Fire damage was contained to one room, however the remainder of the house suffered some smoke damage. The cause has not yet been determined however the incident is being investigated.”
