Mayor Congratulates Caribbean Rugby Champions

Yesterday [July 10] on the steps of City Hall, Hamilton Mayor Graeme Outerbridge congratulated the Bermuda National Rugby team for winning the 2012 NACRA Men’s 15 Caribbean Championship.

Mayor Outerbridge told the team, “As the Mayor of the City of Hamilton it is really nice to greet you all and Welcome you to the City Hall.”

The Mayor went on to say, “We are all so proud of you for retaining this trophy on home soil after defeating Guyana, so congratulations to all and a job well done.”

Peter Dunkerley, the Bermuda Captain, thanked the Mayor and said, “I would like to thank the team, the coaches and the families for making this all possible, a lot of people made sacrifices and in the end it paid off.”

On June 23, the Bermuda National Rugby team defeated Guyana 18-0 in the finals in front of the home crowd at the National Sports Center to claim the 2012 Caribbean Championship.
