CultureFest Organisers Extend Their Thanks

October 11, 2012

The CultureFest organisers have thanked the community for their support, following the two day event held in Dockyard last month.

A statement said: “In recognition of this success the organizers would like to extend a special and heartfelt thanks to their sponsors the Bermuda Department of Tourism, hosts WEDCO, His Excellency the Governor, the Hon. Premier, Leaders of the Opposition, the Minister of Business Development and Tourism, overseas guests, all those representing their countries in the official opening, entertainers, artists, exhibitors, vendors, volunteers, service providers, essential services, everyone who attended the two day festival, the various media outlets, and all radio, print and television personalities who have willingly supported this endeavor to showcase our cultural diversity in unity and peace.

Warwick Gombeys Perform At CultureFest:

“Within our local media people from all strata of our society have consistently stated that in order for us to comprehensively address our social woes we need broad community support. CultureFest, created for that said purpose, was designed to remind us of our connections, whilst reactivating within us the spirit of collective security, brotherly and sisterly love.

“Now that CultureFest has spoken to the community at large, the organizers would like to encourage all segments of our diverse resident base to work in our collective best interest by supporting their transition into the areas of our community that are most challenged.

“Participation is welcomed in Sounds of Sanctuary (SOS) and the broad range of unifying programs and events they have designed to address our current and most pressing social needs. Unity is strength and recent global events have demonstrated just how ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things. For Bermuda this is a calling, and though the sky is the limit, our response will determine just how much we are prepared to achieve.
