Accident Causes Traffic Delays On Palmetto Rd
[Updated] At approximately 8.30am this morning [Dec 3] a collision occurred on Palmetto Road near the incinerator involving two cars. The police said traffic delays are expected and advised motorists to take a different route. Details are limited, but we will provide additional information as able.
Update: A police spokesperson said: “Around 8:30am on Monday, December 3rd police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Palmetto Road in Devonshire in the vicinity of the Tynes Bay waste treatment facility.
“It appears that a SUV was traveling along Palmetto Road and another SUV was exiting the Tynes Bay facility when the vehicles collided.
“Both SUVs received extensive front end damage; however the respective drivers, a 78 year old Devonshire man and a 39 year old Hamilton parish man, were treated for minor injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and released. There were no other injuries reported.”
