Four People Deny Shooting & Firearm Charges
Four men appeared in Supreme Court this morning [Dec 3] facing charges relating to a shooting on Mission Lane in Pembroke in February 2012.
Jamin Saltus, Jahkiel Samuels, and Ronniko Burchall are all accused of attempting to murder someone, conspiring to murder an unknown person, and accused of using a firearm. Alex Vanderpool was charged with handling a firearm. All the defendants pleaded not guilty and were remanded into custody.
A police statement after the incident said: “About 12:55am on Wednesday 29th February 2012, police officers responded to a report of gunshots outside a private residence located on Mission Lane in Pembroke.
“On arrival officers ascertained that a 23 year old male sustained a suspected gunshot wound and had been conveyed to the hospital in a private car.
“Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit commenced investigations and enquiries have revealed that the victim briefly exited the residence where he, and possibly another male, were targeted by an unknown gunman.”
