First & Premier Football Division Results
A number of First and Premier Division football games took place on Sunday [Jan 6], with BAA, St. David’s, Prospect United, X-Roads, Devonshire Cougars, St. George’s Colts and the Dandy Town Hornets all claiming wins for the day.
First Division: BAA 2- Devonshire Colts 0
At the BAA Field, Jonas Buelow gave BAA the lead in the 6th minute, both teams created chances however the goalkeepers for both teams did well to keep score at 1 – 0 until Buelow doubled the BAA lead in the 87th minute to earn BAA the 2 – 0 win.
First Division: St. David’s 4 – Boulevard Blazers 2
At Lord’s in St. David’s, Nico Smith gave the Boulevard Blazers the lead in the 4th minute, however Otis Minors equalized for the league leaders St. David’s in the 30th minute, an own goal eight minutes later gave St. David’s a 2 – 1 lead. The Boulevard Blazers drew level in the 49th minute when Aaron Williams scored, but Dominic Lambert put the host back in front in the 65th minute and then Angelo Cannonier closed out the scoring for St. David’s in the 73rd minute to earn the win.
First Division: Hamilton Parish 1 – Somerset Eagles 1
At the Wellington Oval, TaiVince Douglas scored in the 34th minute to give Hamilton Parish the lead, but Anwar Telford equalized for the Somerset Eagles in the 70th minute when he converted from the penalty spot as the two teams shared the points.
First Division: Prospect United 4 – Paget Lions 0
At the Police Field, Prospect United got two goals from Justin Hunt as they defeated the Paget Lions 4 – 0, Ronald Bell and Quinn Simmons scored a goal each for Prospect United.
First Division: Ireland Rangers 1 – X-Roads 6
At Malabar, Richard Warner gave visitors X-Road’s the lead in the 17th minute, Rico Beek doubled the lead in the 36th minute, Ireland Rangers pulled a goal back in the 42nd minute when Stephen Durrant scored. Tymon Daniels gave X-Road’s a 3 – 1 lead when he scored in the 65th minute, Daniels then scored his second goal of the game in the 80th minute making it 4 – 1. Warner made it 5 – 1 scoring his second goal of the game in the 85th minute and then in the 88th minute Daniels completed his hat-trick as X-Road’s earned the 6 – 1 win.
Premier Division: PHC Zebras 1 – Devonshire Cougars 2
At the Southampton Oval, Cecoy Robinson gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 7th minute, but Domico Coddington equalized for the visiting Devonshire Cougars in the 19th minute, Chae Brangman scored in the 90th minute to earn the Devonshire Cougars a 2 – 1 win.
Premier Division: St. George’s Colts 2 – Flanagan’s Onion’s 1
At the Wellington Oval, Richard Cumbers gave the Flanagan Onion’s the lead in the 21st minute, but the St. George’s Colts drew level in the 47th minute when Jarreau Hayward found the back of the net, in the 90th minute Allan Douglas Jr. scored to give the St. George’s Colts all three points.
Premier Division: Dandy Town Hornets 3 – Southampton Rangers 1
At the St. John’s Field, the Dandy Town Hornets went in front in the 35th minute when Lynn Tucker found the back of the net, however eight minutes later Tucker would sustain an injury to his leg that would hold the game up for some 30 minutes. When the game resumed the Southampton Rangers would eventually equalize as Dennis Russell scored in the 52nd minute. former Southampton Rangers player Kamen Tucker gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 85th minute and then two minutes later Damon Ming scored to earn the Dandy Town Hornets a 3 – 1 win.
