Hamilton Parish Defeat Eagles, Win Shield

Hamilton Parish are the 2012/13 Shield Champions after defeating Somerset Eagles 1-0 on New Year’s Day.

Hamilton Parish goalkeeper Nigel Burgess denied Matteo Frazonni with a point blank save midway through the first half, and minutes later Patrick Richardson playing up front for Hamilton Parish hit a shot over the bar from just outside the box.

Hamilton Parish’s TiaVince Douglas had a drive from the edge of the box saved by Karl Brown in goal for Somerset Eagles in the 38th minute, two minutes later Douglas received a cross and slipped it pass an advancing Brown to give Hamilton Parish the 1-0 lead.

Somerset Eagles created the first chance of the second half only to watch the chance from Frazzoni go wide, while Hamilton Parish had a shot from Douglas saved and a shot from Ian Coke saved.

In injury time a right footed drive from the edge of the box from Hamilton Parish’s Shayne Hollis came crashing back off the crossbar and then with the fourth official indicating 1 minute of stoppage time Lambert had another chance to score the equalizer but his shot went wide, leaving Hamilton Parish the victors.
