Women’s & Men’s Division Hockey Results
The hockey pitch at the National Sports Center saw action from both the men’s and women’s divisions on Sunday [Jan 20]. The two women’s Budgies teams went head to head with Team 1 being victorious, while the Polecats defeated the Upstarts in the men’s game.
Women’s Division: Budgies One 4 Budgies Two 0
The Budgies number One team took on their Second team in this Women’s Division encounter at the National Sports Center. Britany Faris gave the Number One team the lead with a Field Goal in the 22nd minute, Francesca Cacace doubled the lead in the 31st minute converting from a Penalty Corner, Faris added her second goal of the game in the 58th minute scored another Field Goal and then Amy Fox scored a Field Goal in the 68th minute to earn the Number One team a 4 – 0 win.
Men’s Division: Polecats 8 Upstarts 1
The Polecats got a hat-trick from Shannon Simons as they defeated the Upstarts 8 – 1. Andrew Brouwer and Richard Marriott both added two goals each and Nigel Deane scored the other goal for the Polecats, while John Richmond scored the lone goal for the Upstarts.
