Upcoming: 2013 Validus Running Of The Bulls 5K
The 2nd annual “Validus Running of the Bulls 5K” will take place on Sunday [Feb 17] beginning on Richmond Road in front of the Chartis Building beside Robin Hood. Walkers [both competitive and recreational] start at 8:30am and runners start at 9:00am.
This race is inspired by the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Several elite runners [the “Bulls”] will be running the race but will have a delayed start. The elite runners/walkers will try catch up to the rest of the runners/walkers in a race to the finish line.
There is also a non-competitive run, a competitive walk and a recreational 5k walk. The deadline for entries is 5.00pm on Friday [Feb 15]. Registration for the event is online only this year at the Race Day World website. Proceeds of the race go to support Beyond Rugby and the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club.
Number pickup and late registration will take place between 10.00am and 12.00pm on Saturday [Feb 16] at the Chartis Building lobby, 29 Richmond Road. Parking is available in the West parking lot [enter from Richmond Road].
The route begins on Richmond Road in front of the Chartis Building and goes along Woodburne Ave, Front Street, Burnaby Road [turning into Cedar Ave], St John’s Road, Pitts Bay Road [turning into Front Street], Woodburne Avenue, Richmond Road ending at the Chartis Building West parking lot.
