The Codfish Breakfast in Bed Fundraiser is the first initiative to help Bermuda’s talented performers to raise travel funds, allowing them to perform at Bermuda Day in London 2013 on Monday May 27, 2013.

The cost is $12 per plate [$3 delivery charge]. Delivery is available for central parishes [from Devonshire – Paget]. Email info@ckccorporation.com or call 519-2338 or 332-8475 to order your plates.

A spokesperson said, “The goal is to help talents raise funds so they can purchase roundtrip tickets to London and pay for accommodations to represent Bermuda at the event. The talents will have to work for their funds so they will be assisting with every aspect of the fundraiser [from serving to delivery].

“Bermuda Day in London is an extraordinary extension of the Annual Bermuda Heritage Day celebrations. It is a free day-long family event that celebrates Bermudian culture, heritage and history.

“The initiative was started in 2009 by Spredluv Music and Arts collective, founded by London-based Bermudian-born Beatnik Rubaine, as a way to bring Bermudians living and studying in the UK together to celebrate the island’s heritage and to expose UK and European residents to what Bermuda has to offer.

“In 2013, Spredluv has created a strong team of Bermudian representatives, including CKC Corporation (Spotlight Talent Agency, CKC BOOKS and CKC Cares Charity #914), to open opportunities to talents on island and to take the event to another level for Bermuda.

“Since its humble beginnings, Bermuda Day in London has been held at The Lockside Lounge in the famous Camden Market and has grown considerably in popularity, from a gathering of fifty plus Bermudians to an event welcoming thousands of Bermudians and UK residents alike.

“Camden Market greets almost 5 million people per year, 100,000 each weekend, so it is an ideal venue for Bermudian talents to showcase their talents and network opportunities to grow.

“Hosting the Bermuda Day event showcases Bermudian DJs, musicians and artists and other creative talent living from the island.

“Traditional Bermudian foods and drinks are also available so we are able to satisfy the appetite of Bermudians living in the UK who crave for a taste of home and introduce UK and European residents to Bermudian delights.

“The event also provides an opportunity to promote Bermuda and spark an interest in all things Bermudian to potential tourists to the island. By continually adding Bermudian elements, such as traditional Bermudian cuisine, drinks, food and entertainment, we have been able to maintain a true representation of Bermuda and present it in the heart of London’s Camden Market.

“On May 27, 2013, this awesome celebration of everything Bermudian will showcase Bermuda’s talents living in the UK and Europe and talents who still reside on the island, who are eager and ready for international exposure. With your help, we can make Bermuda Day in London 2013 the best event to date by giving our island’s talents the opportunity to shine.

“Treat yourself and loved ones to a delicious traditional codfish breakfast in bed! On behalf of Bermuda’s talented performers, we thank you for your support! For further information on Spotlight Talent Agency and Bermuda Day in London, please visit www.ckccorporation.com.”
